1) Surveillance & patrolling
2) Delivery of essential supplies to trapped protectees
These are two critical tasks drones can already help private security agencies with. This isn’t about “if” — it’s just a matter of “when.”
It’s Drone Tuesday at 360PSA, where we discuss the implications of drones for the private security industry.
Let’s take a quick look at what’s already happening:
1) Surveillance & Patrolling
Most recently, the Vizag Police are ramping up drone surveillance to monitor remote areas, detect suspicious activity, prevent unlawful gatherings, and curb public alcohol consumption.
Isn’t that exactly what PSAs do at client sites?
Yes. And drones just supercharge that ability!
2) Delivery of Essentials
bigbasket is now delivering groceries to a residential complex in Bengaluru via drones, in under 10 minutes!
Imagine the same capability used by PSAs to send food, first aid, or water to protectees trapped in a fire, flood, or disaster zone.
It’s life-saving logistics, made possible.
Both use cases are fast becoming mainstream and will soon be expected as "basic offerings" from modern security providers.
But 360PSA doesn't stop at the basics. So here's an advanced development.
The British Royal Air Force (RAF) has unveiled StormShroud - their first ever Autonomous Collaborative Platform (ACP). It will operate with crewed fighter jets such as the RAF F-35 B Lightning and Eurofighter Typhoons in a Manned-Unmanned Teaming (MUMT) format.

StormShroud is essentially an electronic warfare drone that will protect RAF fighter jets by taking out enemy air defences.
As per the RAF, StormShroud will blind/jam/mislead enemy radars, increasing the survivability and effectiveness of their manned aircraft.
There are many more details to offer, but let's talk about the implications of the above for the private security industry.
It is simple.
You, as an industry stakeholder, must acknowledge that drone technology is rapidly evolving, not by the day, but by the second. And you must keep yourself updated on these developments if you want to be perceived as a well-rounded private security agency owner or professional.
Even when something happens at the borders, it is the private security professional who everyone looks up to for their comments. And so will your clients - That will be your opportunity to stand out from the crowd.
And guess what, your competitors are not even thinking about this, yet!
This is the time to get ahead in this race and emerge as a winner.
