It's Drone Tuesday at 360PSA, where we discuss the implications of drones for the private security industry.

Private security is a subset of national security.

What happens at your borders has the potential of spilling into the country and becoming a "private" issue.

Think Russia-Ukraine war. Think Israel-Hamas conflict. Many more examples.

Therefore, it is not a far-fetched idea to believe that drones being used in wars (and how) can not be used to breach an individual's private security.

In executive protection, there is usually a layering of physical security around the principal. Most of the time it is 2D (only on the ground). But now the threat is in the sky too. It is 3D! Watch the video below! 👇

Are you prepared to provide this additional dimension of security?

This is one end of the spectrum when talking about emerging threats from drones. But a private security agency must prepare to deal with softer eventualities too.

Imagine you are in charge of securing a live concert.

A rogue drone flies into the venue and starts live-streaming the concert. Even that is a threat. This too has the potential to cause significant financial loss to the organization that has hired you for your security services.

Are you prepared to counter such threats?

These are some real questions to answer. Because in these answers lies the opportunity to truly become a 360-degree security provider - which a lot of security companies carelessly claim.

The point is, just like firearms, drones are a double-edged sword for security. On one side, they present new ways of providing security while on the other, they are themselves the threat.

Either way, if you don't understand drones, you will be left behind.

Feel free to get in touch if you, as a private security agency, want to take this discussion forward and discover what you can do with and about drones.
